30% reduction in Std. 9th to 12th syllabus, increasing the proportion of objective questions to 30%

 School-colleges in the state have been closed for a long time due to the Corona epidemic and students are also studying online from home. In the general stream earlier 20% were objective questions but now the proportion of objective questions has been reduced to 30%.



Gujarat Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has reduced the curriculum from Std-9 to Std-12 by 30 per cent in the interest of students by the government in the academic year 2020-21. From now on, the proportion of objective questions in question papers in Std-9, 10, 11 and 12 general stream has been increased to 30 per cent. While in Standard-12 Science, the proportion of 50% Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) and 50% descriptive type questions in the question papers has been maintained as before.


In Std-9 to Std-12 question papers in descriptive type questions will be given general option instead of internal option. These changes have been sent to all the secondary-higher secondary schools through the District Education Officers. Due to the Koro epidemic, the Gujarat Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has reduced the curriculum from Std-9 to Std-12 by 30 per cent in the academic year 2020-21 in the interest of students. Accordingly, in Std. 9, 10, 11 and 12 general stream, the proportion of objective questions in question papers has been increased to 30 per cent. Which was earlier 20 per cent.



50% MCQ in standard-12 science question papers remains the same

 While in Std-9 Science, the percentage of MCQ (Multiple Choice Question) and 0% descriptive type questions in question papers has been kept the same as before. Question papers for descriptive type questions in Std-9 will be given general option instead of internal option. Concerning this change, question papers of 40 main subjects of Std. 4 have been prepared by Gujarat Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. EXAM will be taken in the month of May. 10th and 12th exams

 Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama announced that a 30 per cent reduction in the syllabus has been made in the interest of the students. Students now focus on 70 percent of the curriculum.
